Many would not consider Boston as the city to visit in the US but the city quickly proves that it’s indeed one of the most interesting ones to explore. Its rich history along with picturesque scenery and relaxed atmosphere provides for a very different kind of travel experience than that of New York City.
The process of travel begins with a train journey from New York to Boston. While the train trip is delayed and very crowded, the excitement of exploring a new-to-you city fully compensates for the low comfort of the journey. Public transport in Boston is also noteworthy. Despite being one of the oldest metro systems in the USA, it is still an effective means of travelling around the city while giving visitors a chance to admire its fascinating history through the centuries.
One of the places that will remain in the visitor’s memory is the Boston Public Library. Its magnificent design, calm reading rooms, and 19th-century charm create the impression that this is more a museum than a library. All book lovers cannot skip this place when visiting the city.
When compared to New York, Boston seems to be a much calmer, cleaner, and less busy city. Parks are quieter, streets are easily walkable, and the entire atmosphere invites the visitors to relax and enjoy the beauty around them. For example, enjoying quiet moments such as watching squirrels play and listening to street musicians is as good as visiting one of the city’s famous attractions.
